ALICE WALTON: So here we go with another great woman artist and a strong woman. Louise Nevelson who lived from 1899 to 1988--wow. That's pretty impressive, isn’t it? We have her famous Night Zag Wall which was done between '69 and '74. Louise's father was a spare parts junk dealer, so to speak. And so she grew up with kind of a junk yard or a spare parts of all types place in her backyard, which is I think how she started out working from that yard and then progressing into things such as Night Zag Wall.I do love Louise's quote, “when I fell in love with black, it contained all color. It wasn't a negation of color. It was an acceptance.” And that is one of my favorite quotes.

ALICE WALTON: Nos encontramos aquí con otra excelente artista mujer de una gran fuerza. Louise Nevelson, que vivió de 1899 a 1988... guau. Es sorprendente, ¿no? Tenemos su célebre pintura Pared zigzag nocturna, realizada entre 1969 y 1974. El padre de Louise era vendedor de repuestos de segunda mano, para decirlo de algún modo. Entonces ella creció con una especie de cúmulo de chatarra o partes sueltas de todo tipo en su patio. Creo que allí comenzó su experimentación, que luego se desarrolló y produjo obras como Pared zigzag nocturna.Me encanta algo que ella dijo: “Cuando me enamoré del negro, entendí que contenía todo el color. No era una negación del color. Era una aceptación”. Esa es una de mis citas favoritas.
