ALICE WALTON: So welcome to Maya Lin. One of my favorite artists and actually a close personal friend. She's one of the top contemporary artists in the world today. Maya flew into the Northwest Arkansas airport and saw the beautiful streaks of the White River water system. She's very concerned with water and the preservation of water, and this sculpture is about all that. It also denotes the need for conservation and recycling, which we all need to do, since this piece is done from recycled silver.So when you go along the wall next to the lower pond, you'll see this beautiful silver ribbon that sparkles when the sun dances on that wall. And we were so fortunate that she agreed to a commission of the White River water system.

ALICE WALTON: Bienvenidos a la obra de Maya Lin. Una de mis artistas favoritas y una querida amiga. Es una de las artistas contemporáneas más importantes del mundo en la actualidad. Antes de aterrizar en el aeropuerto de Northwest Arkansas, Maya pudo ver las hermosas figuras que forma el recorrido del río White. A Lin le preocupa el agua y su preservación, y esta escultura hace referencia a ello. La obra, realizada con plata reciclada, también señala la importancia de la conservación y el reciclaje, que todos debemos llevar a cabo.Al caminar a lo largo de la pared, junto al estanque inferior, verán una hermosa cinta plateada que brilla cuando el sol baila sobre la pared. Nos sentimos muy afortunados de que Lin aceptara trabajar en el proyecto sobre el curso del río White.
