Paul Lacroix depicted the floating water lilies with an almost scientific precision. Each lily is shown from a different angle, giving a more complete picture of the flower. The brightness of the white petals, protecting the fragile yellow stamens, contrasts with the dark-colored surroundings. While the water appears in dark hues, it is still so crystal clear that the stems of the plant can be seen underneath the surface.

Estos lirios acuáticos han sido pintados por Paul Lacroix con una precisión casi científica. Cada lirio es mostrado desde un ángulo distinto, dando una imagen más completa de la flor.
