When Covid hit I felt the need to reach out to the homeless community in Fayetteville, Arkansas where I live. I am a working musician and totally out of work because of the pandemic. Not having expendable income to give to 7 Hills Homeless Shelter, I decided to make a felted bird every day and auction it off on Facebook and give all the proceeds to 7 Hills. It has been good medicine for me as my husband and I are total ‘bird brains’. I made 50 birds and sold everyone. It was such a joy and together with the community we raised a substantial amount.
